International programs and partnerships
Studying abroad is an essential part of the ENS student experience. Students may choose from institutions in the Erasmus+ program as well as from distinguished schools in countries across the globe.
The ENS chooses its partners based on three central factors: geographic location, existence of active collaboration with researchers at ENS, and quality of the education offered at the establishments.
ENS students are able to study abroad through Erasmus from their third year of license study (L3) until their second year of Masters study (M2). If necessary, they may obtain an exemption of attendance for the university in Paris in which they are enrolled.
Several options exist for studying abroad at the ENS, allowing international students to come for a few months or for multiple years. Read about the process here as you begin preparing for your time at the ENS.
The country and university you choose will be based on your research project and your academic path at the ENS.
