The Bureau des Arts
The Bureau des Arts de l'ENS (BdA) is led by 6 of the 13 elected members of the COF. It aims at ensuring a prominent place for arts in ENS student and associative life, so that ENS students can benefit from all the opportunities of the Parisian cultural life.
Three times a year, the BdA publishes on its website a large catalogue of cultural performances (theatre, opera, circus, etc.), to which students members of the BdA can access at preferential rates. This sale offering, eagerly awaited by the ENS students, is made possible thanks to the partnerships the BdA has established with the greatest performance halls of Paris: the Comédie-Française, Théâtre de la Ville, Opéra de Paris, Philharmonie de Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées... The BdA also offers each month a cultural tour for a small group (between 10 and 20 students), thus discovering an exhibition (visiting the Musée Marmottan), a performance hall (visiting the Opéra Bastille), etc.
The BdA also organises the 48 h des Arts annual festival. For this occasion, the École normale supérieure opens its door to the public and hosts numerous cultural events, resulting from projects set up by ENS students and any external person interested in participating.
Nevertheless, the BdA ambitions are not limited to the French capital, as they organise each year one or two trips in Europe or in France, so that ENS students can discover new cultural horizons. Each one of these events attracts many students: the BdA thus take an essential part in student life at the ENS, and plays an intermediate role between the ENS and the other cultural institutions of Paris and its surroundings.
